Senior Technical Business Analyst – AI / Agentic AI
London (Hybrid – predominantly remote with occasional on-site)
£550–£650 per day (Inside IR35)

We are supporting a central Government organisation delivering cutting-edge AI and Agentic AI transformation programmes across complex, enterprise-scale environments.

The Role
As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will sit at the intersection of policy, business operations, data, and emerging AI technologies — translating complex organisational needs into scalable AI-enabled solutions.
You will work across multidisciplinary teams including data scientists, AI engineers, architects, service designers, and senior stakeholders to support the design and delivery of:
1. AI-enabled decision-support tools
2. Agentic AI workflows (autonomous or semi-autonomous task agents)
3. Machine learning-driven automation
4. Large Language Model (LLM) use cases
5. Intelligent case management and process optimisation
Key Responsibilities
6. Lead discovery and define AI use cases aligned to strategic objectives
7. Translate business problems into AI-ready requirements
8. Define functional and non-functional requirements for AI/ML systems
9. Map data flows, integration points, and system dependencies
10. Facilitate workshops between technical AI teams and policy/business stakeholders
11. Support governance, risk, ethics, and assurance frameworks for AI
12. Contribute to pilot / proof-of-concept design and scaling strategies
13. Support UAT and validation of AI model outputs
Essential Experience
14. 5+ years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst
15. Experience delivering projects within Government or highly regulated environments
16. Strong Agile delivery background
17. Experience working on AI, machine learning, automation, or data science programmes
18. Exposure to:
LLMs (e.g., GPT-style systems)
AI-driven workflow automation
Intelligent agents / Agentic AI concepts
19. Understanding of APIs, integrations, and cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)
20. Experience documenting:
AI use cases
Data requirements
Model inputs/outputs
Ethical and compliance considerations
Highly Desirable
21. Experience with Responsible AI frameworks
22. Exposure to MLOps or model lifecycle governance
23. Knowledge of prompt engineering or AI interaction design
24. Experience delivering AI proof-of-value pilots in Government
25. Previous clearance (SC) beneficial but not mandatory
