Litchard Primary School is situated on the outskirts of Bridgend and serves the communities of Litchard, Wildmill and Pendre. The school is a focal point within the local community that supports families from very diverse backgrounds. Litchard is a large, purpose-built school with a swimming pool set in extensive grounds. We welcome children aged 3 to 11 and pride ourselves on offering them a quality learning environment where they will be taught and cared for by highly trained, experienced professionals. The school also has a Learning Resource Base (LRB) class and an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) class taking referrals from the local authority. At Litchard, we are proud of the high standards we achieve. These were recognised by a very good Estyn inspection report in 2025 and the receipt of numerous awards.
We are seeking a Headteacher with a clear vision to continue the drive to excellent standards in the school. You will provide leadership to the school to maintain its success, ensure high-quality education for all pupils, and continue raising standards of achievement. You will promote a secure foundation for achieving high standards across all areas of the school's work. You will sustain and improve the culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all pupils in Litchard. Our Headteacher will work with the wider local community to maintain effective partnerships and links.
s an experienced Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher, you will have management experience, proven leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills, and experience of leading change. You will be committed to working in partnership with pupils, staff, parents and governors, and the local community to provide an environment in which staff and pupils are supported in achieving their full potential.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
