We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead Prosthetist to join our existing, specialist team at this clinic.
The role
As Clinical Lead Prosthetist, you will deliver clinically excellent prosthetic service. This includes budget management and ensuring the clinical team meets set targets as well as providing training and supervision to less experienced colleagues and students.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring that packages of Prosthetic care are agreed by the Patient, are affordable to the NHS and meet the commercial needs of the Company
* Taking the lead clinically, dealing with complex or difficult cases
* Training/supervising/mentoring less experienced colleagues as required.
* Demonstrating a deep understanding of patients’ pathology and providing guidance to the clinical team on the most appropriate clinical intervention.
* Leading the prosthetic team in outcome measurement including use of gait analysis equipment.
* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) at all levels to ensure the most appropriate and effective treatment for patients.
* Assisting the National Clinical Leads / Clinical & Contract Manager/Blatchford in developing and maintaining protocols, standards, systems and administrative functions to ensure the seamless delivery of services to customers.
* Working within the prescription guidelines p rovided by the company to ensure cost effective product provision.
What are we looking for?
Essential skills and experience
* Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics
* HCPC registration
* Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable)
* Experience in a wide range of prosthetic provision
* Experience of gait analysis/pressure measurement systems
* Able to prioritise and manage your own workload and that of others
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels
* Be able to manage difficult, challenging and sensitive situations
* Good judgment and decision-making skills
