Humanities Teacher (Specialising in History and/or Geography)
Location: Sittingbourne / Swale, Kent
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Until at least December 2025 – with a view to going permanent)
Supply Desk are proud to be working with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in the Swale area that are seeking a dedicated Humanities Teacher with the ability to teach History and Geography to Key Stage 3 and 4. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher or ECT to take on a full teaching role in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons in History and Geography at KS3 and KS4
Take full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, and assessment
Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, respect, and independent thinking
Use effective classroom management strategies to maintain high standards of behaviour
Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic growth
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in History, Geography, or a related Humanities subject
Be confident teaching both History and Geography to KS3 and KS4
Be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills and a collaborative mindset
Have a positive, proactive, and adaptable approach to teaching
Demonstrate strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students
Be open to a long-term contract with the view to go permanent
