Procurement Manager - Capital Projects

As our next Procurement Manager - Capital Projects, you'll lead procurement activities for projects within Premier Foods' Sweet Treats (Cake) division, covering three manufacturing sites. You will oversee a capital spend of £35M across FY25/26 and work closely with stakeholders at all levels, from divisional directors to site teams. Your responsibilities include leading sourcing initiatives for equipment, civil works, and associated services, from machinery to complex high-value projects.

You will shape and deliver the Capital Change Programme, transforming procurement practices to improve efficiency, governance, and value in capital sourcing. Extensive experience in capital procurement in the food and/or FMCG sector is essential, including equipment, services, and civil works. Experience with MRO parts and services is highly advantageous.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of Premier Foods' strategic shift towards increased capital expenditure, from £20M to £100M. As part of our Capital Change Programme, you will overhaul procurement processes to enhance efficiency and value. This high-impact role is suited for a driven individual comfortable in change environments and aspiring to future leadership within our Procurement team.

1. Deep knowledge and experience of capital procurement
2. Leadership experience or ambition to manage and mentor others
3. Self-motivated with minimal supervision
4. Positive, resilient, and calm under pressure
5. Confident in communicating authority in their areas
6. Responsible for full category ownership
7. Strong stakeholder management skills, able to handle challenging stakeholders
8. Clear and concise communication skills, both upwards and downwards
9. Desire for personal development and greater responsibility
10. Well-organized, capable of managing multiple activities
