Job Role: Building Remediation Manager (0660)
Location: Hybrid / Luton / New Milton
Hours: 35 per week
As the Building Remediation Manager (Industry) you will contribute to our vision of being the UKs favourite property manager by:
* Leading a team of Developer, Customer & Client Liaison Managers providing programme management services for building remediation funded by the construction industry.
* Working with external consultants (either appointed by developers or FirstPort/our clients) to create and manage project planning, milestones, risk management and delivery of each programme.
* Ensuring that each project is managed and progresses, in accordance a scope of services that you will pre-agree with clients.
* Liaising with developers, external clients, government officials and internal colleagues across different business disciplines.
* Instructing and developing strategy with third-party consultants for whom you will be responsible for appointing.
* Ensuring legal process is properly followed for all property management aspects of the projects relating to non-funded costs.
* Being the key point escalation for business-as-usual process questions and customer/client enquiries.
This role reports to the Head of Building Remediation and has a small number of direct reports.
Main Responsibilities
* Leading the team and external consultants in the creation and delivery of:
* Engaging with developers and implementing a unified strategy for works and contracting across the portfolio.
* Reviewing and challenging programme management plans for delivering the building safety remediation projects.
* Highlighting and managing required exceptions and variations to the process and or timelines in order to manage all stakeholders’ expectations.
* internal and external stakeholders management. You will ensure each work stream stays on track. Evaluate the success of each stage of the project against required outcomes, share lessons learned and best practice aiding future project success.
* Ensuring all invoices are logged and paid within our agreed SLA’s, reviewing the content and challenging any irregular entries to ensure funds are spent appropriately.
* Remediation activity that considers the effects of the work on the customer, driving customer centricity.
* Adherence to any funding arrangements in place.
* Representing FirstPort in managing the outsourced consultants and engaging with clients’ directly appointed consultants, ensuring that projects are delivered to a high standard, resolving issues and or conflicts that arise during the programme.
* Identifying and implementing continuous process improvements in line with industry best practice to increase efficiency and productivity throughout the duration of the project, removing inefficiencies and project blockers.
* Proactively managing an overarching risk register (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies), highlighting current and potential blockers to project success. Putting solutions in place to mitigate or remove risk.
* Day to day management of the Developer, Customer & Client Liaison Manager team.
* Regularly liaising with other members of the Building Remediation team.
* Working with the Project and Data Manager to ensure all developer and client reports are correctly and regularly updated.
* Liaising with insurers and insurance brokers regarding the proposed works.
* Managing timely and accurate financial transactions associated with the project.
Skills and Experience
* HND/HNC, Degree or equivalent professional qualifications are essential for this role (including MIRPM/FIRPM).
* Extensive operational property management experience.
* People Management and Leadership experience.
* Knowledge of current Government advice and legislation on building safety, Government funding programme for non-ACM cladding replacement, Managing Agent or a closely related property discipline, Health and Safety and workplace legislation, Contractor management, Project management processes and skills.
* Project Management skills obtained from a formal qualification (Prince2, Greenbelt) or having had significant experience of such processes (desirable).
* Experience of effectively prioritising to meet competing demands and ensure delivery of project expectations within tight deadlines.
* Working knowledge of property management process and legislation is desireable.
* Ability to design, deliver and can articulate structured building safety messages and/or presentations in a clear, non-mystical way in order to aid and support understanding of responsibilities and requirements within the business.
* Capable of hands on problem solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions
* Experience in major project delivery and leadership, in a related field (Preferably with high value multi-disciplinary construction experience).
* Understanding of the H&S issues that impact on work allocation and prioritisation.
* Regulatory knowledge, i.e. section 20, CDM with extensive understanding of there application.
* Flexible and prepared to work outside usual business hours as and when required.
