Job Description
Lead Analyst
£55,000-£65,000 + up to 20% bonusUK - Remote (London office available, 2 days/week if local)
Are you an experienced Analytics professional looking to step into a true deputy leadership position within a high-impact data team? I'm hiring for a Lead Analyst role at a large, mission-driven organisation in the education space, working across international recruitment, marketing, and student progression. This is a role with real ownership, visibility, and progression within the analytics function.
You'll report into a Senior Data Analytics Lead who is balancing both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, and now needs someone who can take the reins operationally, lead a small team, and elevate analytics maturity across the organisation.
What you'll be doing
* Lead and mentor a small analytics team (2 Analysts + Data Executive), setting high standards for delivery.
* Act as the primary analytics partner for Marketing, International Recruitment, Product, and Operations, turning data into decision-ready insights.
* Own BAU reporting across pipeline, conversion, enrolment performance, and agency activity.
* Build robust Power BI data models and dashboards end-to-end - including semantic layers and scalable modelling patterns.
* Partner with IT/Data Engineering to re-engineer pipelines and align on data requirements as the business migrates to a new data platform.
* Support ongoing migration projects (Looker/Tableau ? Power BI; BigQuery ? Fabric).
* Improve KPI consistency, reporting standards, and analytics best practice across the function.
* Contribute to early forecasting and predictive initiatives alongside Data Science.
What you bring
Must-haves:
* 5+ years in analytics/BI roles with proven team leadership experience.
* Advanced SQL and the ability to review and coach others on code quality.
* Power BI expertise, not just building dashboards, but modelling data end-to-end (semantic models, DAX, data modelling best practice).
* Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience delivering meaningful business impact (clear outcomes, not just outputs).
Nice to have (but not required):
* Background working with marketing, recruitment, commercial, or customer-facing teams.
* Experience with data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure or similar.
* Exposure to Looker, Tableau, or BI migration projects.
Why this role is great
* High autonomy - you'll be the go-to operational leader for analytics.
* Strong progression - the Senior Lead was promoted quickly; this role is positioned as next in line.
* Real impact - your insights influence student recruitment and global education access.
* Modernisation roadmap - migration to Power BI and Fabric, re-engineering pipelines, defining metrics.
* Global exposure - stakeholders across multiple regions, plus travel opportunities.
Salary & package
* £55,000-£65,000 base
* Up to 20% bonus
* Remote-friendly, with London office options
* Strong benefits and development support
