Head Chef Position
My retained client is seeking a competent Head Chef who is motivated and passionate about food. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Head Chef or be a strong Sous Chef aiming for their first Head Chef role.
This popular gastro pub is located on the outskirts of a picturesque Suffolk town, easily accessible from Ipswich and Woodbridge. It features a 50-cover restaurant and a small outdoor seating area for summer. The establishment serves breakfast, lunch, and early evening meals.
The restaurant offers seasonal British cuisine made in-house, utilizing fresh local produce with a focus on food provenance. It is known for great service and a traditional British menu, and it remains busy.
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for menu planning, stock control, and staff training. You should be passionate, committed to excellence, and experienced in working in a fresh food environment. Your responsibilities include maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, staff development, and ensuring excellent catering service. You will report directly to the line manager. The ideal candidate will have strong food cost control skills and a track record of raising standards.
Working hours are a maximum of 45 hours per week.
