Engineering Planner
Location: Deeside – full time on site
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Bonus: 7% annual bonus
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Planner to join a manufacturing site in Deeside, playing a critical role in the planning, optimisation and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
This position sits at the centre of the Engineering function and is responsible for ensuring maintenance compliance, asset reliability and operational efficiency through effective planning, scheduling and coordination. The role is primarily office‑based but requires strong visibility and engagement with shop‑floor engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create, optimise and manage preventative maintenance schedules to ensure asset reliability and compliance
* Plan maintenance activities, ensuring all parts, resources and documentation are available ahead of execution
* Act as the site lead for CMMS (Maximo) within the Engineering function
* Manage breakdown analysis reports, lubrication standards and maintenance data
* Coordinate and manage external contractors, including statutory inspections and planned servicing
* Lead maintenance planning activities in collaboration with Maintenance, Controls, Facilities and Manufacturing teams
* Support calibration planning and execution, including coordination with external calibration providers
* Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to reduce downtime and improve OEE
* Monitor and report against maintenance KPIs, using data to drive decisions and improvements
* Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety, quality and regulatory requirements
* Support operational readiness for new or modified equipment installations
* Deputise for the Maintenance Manager where required
Skills & Experience Required:
* Time‑served engineer with strong manufacturing engineering experience
* Proven experience in engineering planning or maintenance leadership roles
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
* Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
* Hands‑on experience with CMMS systems (Maximo essential)
* Strong working knowledge of SAP for purchasing parts and service contracts
* Experience delivering improvement projects and driving maintenance optimisation
* Data‑driven mindset with strong understanding of KPIs and financial metrics
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence across shop‑floor and office‑based teams
Qualifications:
* Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 4, ONC/HNC, BTEC or equivalent in an engineering discipline)
* Electrical and/or mechanical background
