Physiotherapist

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic full‑time B6 Domiciliary Physiotherapist to join our integrated Redditch and Bromsgrove Neighbourhood Teams.

The role involves delivering planned and urgent physiotherapy interventions to the local adult population. You will contribute to high quality patient care and future development of our Neighbourhood Teams. You will have the opportunity to educate and supervise multi‑professional clinicians.

Our teams maintain close links with Worcestershire Acute Trust and local Community Hospitals, providing a multi‑disciplinary and holistic approach to patient care. You will receive clinical supervision from a Band 7 Clinical Lead and B6 colleagues, and opportunities for student mentorship.


Main duties of the job

* Undertake physiotherapeutic assessments and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have highly complex and acute/chronic presentations, to determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatments, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
* Plan, deliver and evaluate care for patients in partnership with MDT colleagues and lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of all elements of the rehabilitation programme.
* Clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, to organise/triage this efficiently and effectively with regards to clinical priorities and use of time.


Job responsibilities

* Assessment of patients referred to the team via routine and urgent referral.
* Undertake comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients, including those with highly complex presentations, using investigative and analytical skills.
* Assess patient understanding of physiotherapy intervention and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
* Contribute to education and training of physiotherapists, healthcare professionals, physiotherapy students, carers, and assistants in physiotherapeutic management, including CPD for the MDT.
* Formulate individualized management and treatment plans using clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment skills and options to deliver specialised programmes of care.
* Train, supervise and performance‑manage more junior staff, instructors, assistants and students, using formal appraisal documentation.
* Participate in recruitment and selection procedures.


Qualifications

* Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
* HPC registration
* Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses / CPD maintained in portfolio
* Original certificates to verify qualifications at point of offer
* Relevant validated clinical course
* Postgraduate training relevant to clinical area


Knowledge

* Excellent knowledge of physiotherapy in relevant areas.
* Awareness of audit
* Awareness of research processes
* Experience of Community Care and Rapid Response style care
* Management, leadership and supervisory skills


Skills & Abilities

* Excellent skills in clinical assessment, intervention and evaluation.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbal and written.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others through in‑service training and educational workshops.
* Ability to maintain judgement and work effectively under pressure.
* Application of health and safety policies including risk assessment.
* Knowledge and experience of complex manual handling techniques and risk assessments.
* Experience of audit.


Experience

* A minimum of 2 years post graduate experience, including work in a variety of specialities.
* Experience of supervision of junior staff or students.
* Experience of delegation to qualified/unqualified staff.
* Junior rotations in core specialist areas of physiotherapy.
* Experience at Band 6.
