In this role you’ll be the primary HR support for our 2nd shift team in Belfast—building relationships, supporting employees, and playing a key part in fostering a positive workplace culture.
You’ll gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, performance and attendance management, and safety support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being a trusted resource for employees, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and wants to continue building broad HR generalist skills with strong mentorship and visibility.
Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Associate is responsible for day‑to‑day employee relations in our Belfast facility for the 2nd shift, including performance, conduct, and attendance management, conflict resolution, onboarding, and benefits administration. The candidate in this role will be first‑aid certified and will be expected to address employee accidents and injuries, as well as collaborate with the Safety Officer on workers’ compensation claims and other facility‑related safety matters. The hours for this job are flexible for the right person/fit.
Essential Job Functions
* Serve as onsite resource for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, timecards, time off, and other HR related matters.
* Collaborate with Production Manager to address performance, conduct, or attendance concerns.
* Support Recruiting Associate in onsite interviews, new hire placement, and onboarding.
* Assist Employee Engagement activities such as events and survey facilitation.
* Provide basic first aid care for employees with minor injuries and support care needed around more serious injuries.
* Collaborate with Safety Officer on active workers’ comp claims.
* Support Production Manager and Production Leads with proactively addressing employee performance.
* Partner with HR Director or HR Generalist Manager on employee separations.
* Keep personnel files up to date and accurately document all HR related matters.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform other related duties as needed such as supporting Human Resources team with general administration tasks.
Skills/Experience/Training
* Associate’s degree.
* Minimum 3 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
* Working knowledge of modern office equipment and procedures.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines and prioritize appropriately.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work on a team.
* Ability to provide basic first aid care with training and certification.
Supervisory Responsibility
* This job carries no supervisory responsibilities.
Schedule and Hours
* Part Time (20 hours/week) Mon‑Thurs or Mon‑Friday (can be flexible to either schedule for the right person/fit).
* 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm or 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Mon‑Thurs).
* 3 pm – 7 pm or 4 pm – 8 pm (Mon‑Fri).
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
* This is an on‑site position.
* Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
* Regular use of computer screen, mouse and keyboard.
* Extended durations of sitting.
* Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds.
* Some travel between Hermon facility and Belfast facility required.
