Bank Support Worker (0-Hour Contract) Locations: Preston & Lytham Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role at this time, as we do not hold a sponsorship licence. About the Role We are recruiting Bank Support Workers to join our flexible workforce supporting individuals with mental health conditions, autism, and epilepsy across services in Preston and Lytham. This is a 0-hour (bank) contract, offering flexible working to suit your availability. Shifts will be offered based on service needs, making this role ideal for those seeking flexible hours, additional work alongside other commitments, or experience within health and social care. You will provide person-centred, compassionate support that promotes independence, safety, dignity, and choice, while supporting individuals to live meaningful and fulfilled lives. Key Responsibilities Provide emotional, practical, and social support in line with individual care and support plans Support individuals with mental health needs, autism, and epilepsy in a calm, respectful, and person-centred manner Assist with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and personal care (where required) Support individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in meaningful activities Promote independence, confidence, and life skills Respond appropriately to mental health distress, behavioural challenges, or seizure activity in line with care plans and training Maintain accurate records including daily notes, incident reports, and health-related documentation Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals Uphold safeguarding standards and follow risk assessments and agreed support strategies What We’re Looking For Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and reliable Strong communication and listening skills Calm and confident approach when supporting individuals experiencing mental health distress or neurological conditions Flexible and adaptable, able to work across different services and teams Resilient with a professional and empathetic manner Commitment to values-based, person-centred support Experience: Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions, autism, and/or epilepsy is desirable but not essential A willingness to learn and complete relevant training, including mental health and epilepsy awareness Practical Requirements Flexibility to work across services in Preston and Lytham Ability to work a variety of shifts, including 12 hour shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins (where applicable) A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential (depending on service needs) Right to work in the UK Safeguarding Commitment We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the individuals we support.
