Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within our Specialist Business Unit on the One Murphy Hub, our new site building in Golborne. We are looking for a true builders QS who can work to support the £40m project of our new hub.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Main building experience with both NEC and JCT experience
* Ensuring Sub contract packages are correctly scoped
* Ensure the use of cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements
* Ensure that the out-turn costs on projects are monitored on a monthly basis through robust resourced and costed bottom-up forecasts
* Management of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
* Management of the production of material for Year End Audit
* Identify, mitigate and manage key risks and opportunities for a portfolio of work
* Ensure subcontract and material procurement schedules are prepared and updated
* Drafting of complex subcontracts including Professional Services Agreements

* Assist in Work Winning Duties as required, including technical writing of PQQ responses
* The ability to consistently apply knowledge and understanding through the development and application of new skills
* Experience of line management, including supporting others using time management, organisational, development and IT skills
* Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
* Will have commercially led a project.
