We are recruiting for a Recovery Worker in East Kent.
At The Forward Trust Community Hub, we support individuals facing issues with drugs and/or alcohol who want to make positive changes. We also support their families and friends concerned about their loved ones' substance use.
Role Responsibilities
Working within an integrated healthcare framework, you will provide support to drug and alcohol users aged 18 and over (dependent on service). Services are designed to deliver psychosocial interventions for individuals identified as having alcohol or drug problems. The services will offer client-centered treatment, utilizing harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches depending on individual needs. You will manage a caseload, provide harm reduction advice, conduct assessments, care planning, and deliver structured 1:1 and group sessions, including structured treatment programs. Collaboration with other services such as housing, employment, healthcare, probation, and CRCs is essential. You will contribute to the targets set by Forward and local commissioners, with a focus on measuring outcomes. Flexibility is required, including some evening/weekend shifts and travel to other projects within your cluster to ensure continuity of care.
Please note this is a 21-hour contract over 3 days, with negotiable days.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for applicants with the following qualities:
Essential Skills and Experience
* Experience working within substance misuse services
* Experience conducting comprehensive assessments, risk management, and designing SMART care plans
* Experience delivering structured interventions
* Facilitation of groups
* Use of motivational interviewing techniques in 1:1 and group settings
* Strong IT skills
* Understanding of holistic care, community services, and continuity of care
* Experience supporting equality and diversity
* Knowledge of issues facing substance misusers and the Recovery Agenda
* Safeguarding qualifications
* Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (desirable)
* Thorough knowledge of the 12-step recovery process
* Knowledge of community support services and the criminal justice sector
* Personal experience of addiction/imprisonment (minimum 3 years abstinence; ex-prisoners released at least 5 years ago)
* Experience working in community or prison settings
* Utilizing clinical supervision
* Knowledge of NHS health and wellbeing outcomes
Qualifications
Any qualification in substance misuse.
