Trade Support Engineer | Production Support | Market Making
London | £200,000 – £300,000 (Base + Performance Bonus) | 4 Days in Office
We’re working with a leading market-making firm seeking an experienced Trade Support Engineer to join their London team. This is a hands-on, front-office support role within a fast-paced trading environment, where you’ll play a key part in ensuring system stability, operational excellence, and seamless trade execution across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide real-time support for trading platforms, ensuring uptime, data integrity, and low-latency performance.
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune Linux-based production environments, identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal system performance.
* Manage and validate market data feeds to guarantee timely and accurate information delivery.
* Develop and maintain Python scripts and automation tools to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual intervention.
* Collaborate closely with traders, quants, and developers to identify system bottlenecks, improve reliability, and implement new tools and features.
* Participate in system release cycles, post-trade analysis, and incident reviews to drive continuous improvement and operational resilience.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong Python skills, including scripting and data analysis (Pandas, NumPy).
* Advanced SQL experience (PostgreSQL or similar) working with large, real-time datasets.
* Proven Linux system administration experience, including shell scripting, process monitoring, and performance optimization in low-latency or real-time trading environments.
* Solid understanding of market data sources (Bloomberg, Refinitiv/Reuters, ICE, etc.).
* Prior exposure to electronic trading, execution platforms, or market-making systems.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; able to perform effectively under pressure in a front-office environment.
