Job Overview

Band 6, 1 year fixed term, full time – 37.5 hours per week. Location: Elm House, Macclesfield. Salary: £38,682 – £46,580 per annum. Closing date: 22/10/2025 23:59.


Responsibilities

* Conduct mental health assessments for children and young people.
* Formulate and deliver tailored interventions using evidence‑based therapies such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or systemic approaches.
* Manage clinical risk for children and young people presenting with risk due to mental and emotional health needs.
* Maintain accurate care and treatment plans, and evaluate progress.
* Collaborate with child protection, community services, and inter‑agency partners.
* Support families and conduct family work, group sessions, and consultation.
* Participate in training, supervision, and professional development.
* Travel to community venues as required.


Qualifications

* Core profession: social work, nursing, or allied health professional.
* Professional registration with recognised national body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England).
* Post‑qualification experience in CYPMHS or child mental health field.
* Experience of evidence‑based interventions, formal and informal clinical risk assessments, and risk management planning.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Knowledge of child protection practice, children’s legislation, and inter‑agency working.
* Proficiency in clinical systems, Microsoft Office, and clinical databases.
* Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional growth.


Desirable Criteria

* Therapeutic training to intermediate or diploma level.
* Experience providing clinical supervision and working with students/learners.
* Experience working within NHS community CYPMHS.
* Experience delivering therapeutic approaches such as family therapy.
* Experience of inter‑agency working and writing treatment plans.
