About the role
Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution is continuing to grow, and we are currently seeking General Operatives (OHL) to support increasing demand across projects throughout England and Wales.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading infrastructure business working on the delivery of high-voltage overhead line projects across the UK.
What you'll be doing
As a General Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient running of project stores and site yards, ensuring materials and equipment are available to support the safe and effective delivery of overhead line projects.
You will:
* Assist the Stores Person and HGV Drivers with day-to-day activities
* Support the receipt, storage, and issue of materials, tools, plant, consumables and PPE
* Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
* Check deliveries for accuracy, quality and damage
* Help manage plant hire, returns and equipment calibration
* Maintain tidy, secure yard and stores facilities
* Liaise with site teams to ensure materials are available in line with operational needs
* Support compliance with all health, safety and environmental standards
Who we're looking for
We are looking for motivated individuals who enjoy working as part of a team in a busy site environment.
Essential:
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
* Experience within construction or infrastructure projects
* Knowledge of the power transmission industry
* Telehandler licence or OHL authorisations
* Emergency First Aid at Work qualification
