Brief Description
We are seeking a Lead Trainer in Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) to train and assess our workforce at Swindon Training Centre. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop the skills of future professionals in a state-of-the-art environment.
About the role (External)
What does an average day look like for a Lead Trainer?
You will deliver training and assessments to up to twelve adult learners per course, supporting them to achieve learning outcomes through practical exercises and classroom-based learning. The training may take place at our main centre or satellite facilities.
While experience in maintenance infrastructure engineering is ideal, applications are welcome from those in safety-critical roles in industries such as Oil and Gas, Telecoms & Communication, or armed forces.
Main Responsibilities
* Deliver technical, safety, and behavioral training using various methods, including face-to-face, virtual, and digital solutions, while collaborating with the training planning team.
* Promote a safety-first culture, embodying the 'No-Unsafe-Acts' principle, and uphold Network Rail's values and safety standards.
* Support apprentices through safeguarding, assessment, and work-based learning activities.
* Create an engaging learner experience tailored to diverse learning styles and needs.
* Maintain technical competence, pursue professional development, and support trainer development within and outside Network Rail.
* Develop and enhance training materials and represent Network Rail in capability forums.
* Contribute to quality improvements and ensure the proper maintenance of training assets.
* Support company policies, initiatives, and managerial behaviors.

* Strong technical or operational knowledge relevant to the role
* Excellent presentation skills
* Ability to inspire cultural change and motivate learners
* Management skills in planning and achieving training objectives
