About The Role
Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick are looking for an experienced Skills, Education & Employment Lead to play a pivotal role in building a future‑ready workforce across the Sizewell C MEH Alliance. This role sits at the heart of our commitment to inclusion, diversity and long‑term socio‑economic impact, driving initiatives that promote skills development, education partnerships and local employment opportunities.
Location: Suffolk (2–3 days per week on site)
What you’ll be doing
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver the Skills, Education and Employment strategy aligned to the MEH Alliance’s objectives
* Work closely with the Social Impact team to ensure skills KPIs are tracked and reported effectively
* Identify emerging skills requirements and workforce trends across the project
* Lead Early Careers recruitment, induction and development, partnering with alliance organisations to ensure a diverse and inclusive approach
* Collaborate with enterprise partners and the supply chain to ensure Skills, Education and Employment commitments are met at all levels
* Build and maintain strong partnerships with education providers, community groups, apprenticeship providers, industry bodies and government organisations
* Design and oversee apprenticeship, graduate, intern and CPD programmes in partnership with parent companies
* Lead outreach initiatives to attract talent from diverse community groups, including prison leavers, armed forces veterans and the long‑term unemployed
* Represent the Alliance at careers fairs, industry events and educational forums
* Support local employment by working with HR teams to forecast and fill key roles with local talent
Who we’re looking for
You’ll be a confident, collaborative professional with a strong background in skills, education and employment programmes, ideally within large or complex environments.
Essential Experience And Qualities
* Proven experience in a Skills, Education and Employment role
* Strong understanding of national policy, trends and best practice within the SEE landscape
* Experience designing, delivering and evaluating learning programmes, including blended learning
* Knowledge of early careers programmes (graduates, apprentices, school leavers)
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working up to director level
* Understanding of the regional socio‑economic environment
* Highly organised, motivated and comfortable managing multiple priorities
* Strong cultural awareness and a people‑focused approach
* Able to obtain a security clearance
Desirable
* Experience working in a complex, multi‑contractor environment
* Experience on large UK infrastructure projects
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
