Your Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated electrician to work on renewable energy installations, including:
Installing, testing, and commissioning domestic and/or commercial solar PV systems
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings
Working with DC and AC circuits, inverters, isolators, and fault finding
Using remote monitoring systems, data loggers, and apps
Ensuring compliance with H&S protocols, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS)
Following UK building regulations and DNO (Distribution Network Operator) requirements
Reporting faulty appliances, installations, or equipment that do not meet safety regulations
Operating machinery and equipment safely using all relevant safety devices
Completing all aspects of electrical works
Willingness to travel regionally (or nationally depending on the role)
Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when required
What We Need from You
Recognised Electrical apprenticeship or full electrical qualifications (Essential)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Essential)
MCS Accreditation knowledge or experience (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)
Experience in solar PV or renewable energy preferred (training available)
Knowledge of PAS 2030 (for retrofit/funded roles) and G98/G99 (grid connection regulations)
Solar PV qualifications, including one of:
City & Guilds 2399 - Solar Photovoltaic Installation (recognised)
LCL Awards Level 3 Award in Installation & Maintenance of Solar PV Systems
BPEC Solar PV Installer Course (desirable)
ECS Gold Card (Essential)
Passion for sustainability and innovation
Full UK driving licence under 7 points
