We are seeking an EC&I Technician to join our team on a fixed-term basis for up to two years, supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.

The purpose of this role is to deliver hands-on maintenance, fault-finding, calibration, and improvement activities across site assets, ensuring equipment performance, compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and minimal operational downtime. Working closely with operations, engineering, and contractors, the EC&I Technician will contribute to planned and reactive maintenance, small projects, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Investigate faults on plant highlighted by the notification process in SAP.
* Progress notifications into work orders.
* Complete daily scheduled work, ensuring the highest standards of H&S are followed.
* Ensure tooling/equipment used is in date inspection and suitable (PUWER, LOLER).
* Co-ordinate third party contractors on site when required.
* Find and implement improvements to plant (continuous improvement).
* Assist in the planning and delivery of outages.
* Be reactive to breakdowns when required.
* Report progress of work as required.
* Assist in the development of apprentices on site.
Background
* Demonstrable experience gained within the power generation industry or similar heavy industry – essential.
* Previous experience of contractor management – essential.
* Proven experience in the overhaul, maintenance, and repair of valves and pumps within an industrial or manufacturing environment – essential.
* Good numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills – essential.
* Demonstratable competence in use of IT/IS skills (e.g. MS Office) – essential.
* Appreciation of the core components of a CCGT and how they operate – desirable.

Qualifications
* Completed a recognised formal training programme or apprenticeship to achieve technician status (e.g. C&G parts I, II & III) – essential.
* HNC/ONC in an engineering subject, plus relevant experience – desirable.
