Job Title: Nuclear Interface Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Nuclear Interface Engineer to manage and coordinate technical and regulatory interfaces across key stakeholders in a nuclear power project. This role ensures that design, safety, construction, and licensing activities are aligned between the utility, vendors, regulators, and engineering teams. It’s a critical position in ensuring efficient communication, technical accuracy, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders, including the nuclear regulator.
* Define, document, and manage interface requirements and agreements across systems, organizations, and project phases.
* Coordinate resolution of technical and regulatory issues related to plant design, safety, and operations.
* Ensure consistent alignment between design documentation, licensing submissions, and operational needs.
* Support integration of plant systems during engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
* Lead interface meetings, track open items, and report progress to project leadership.
* Ensure interface risks are identified, assessed, and managed in line with nuclear safety culture and project requirements.
Requirements
* Degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or related field).
* 5+ years of experience in the nuclear industry, preferably in engineering, design integration, or licensing.
* Strong understanding of nuclear plant systems, regulatory frameworks (e.g., NRC, ONR, CNSC, IAEA), and project lifecycle phases.
* Experience working across multidisciplinary and multinational teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
* Eligible for security clearance as required.
Desirable
* Familiarity with SMRs, Gen IV technologies, or large-scale nuclear new builds.
* Experience with interface management tools and system engineering approaches (INCOSE, MBSE).
* Prior involvement in licensing, permitting, or safety case development.
* Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE/CEng) status.
