Job Title: School Caretaker
Location: Birmingham
Contract Type: Temp to Perm Contract
Working Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £120 - £160 per day
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a reliable, hardworking, and proactive School Caretaker to join a friendly and supportive school environment through our agency. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises are clean, safe, and well-maintained, helping create a positive space for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening and closing the school premises each day
General maintenance and minor repairs around the school site
Ensuring the site is clean, safe, and secure at all times
Managing heating, lighting, and alarm systems
Supporting with deliveries and furniture movement
Monitoring site security and liaising with external contractors as required
Conducting regular health & safety checks
Requirements:
Previous caretaking, site management, or maintenance experience preferred
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Good understanding of health and safety practices
A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one via the agency)
Excellent communication and time management skills
Flexibility with hours when required (e.g., early start, occasional evenings)
