Hourly pay rate: 12.21
We are looking for someone to assist a young male who is unable to communicate his needs, wishes and preferences due to his acute learning disability, however enjoys lots of different activities. He requires support of his mother who manages any contacts with any professionals. He is happy, talkative, anxious about changes in his routine, however enjoys gadgets, Lego, painting (but not for a long time), activities outdoors, going to the park. Other activities enjoyed are going to the harbour to see the boats, getting out into the community and going to college 4 days a week. A strong desire is had to be seen to have friends and join in social events, but his inability to understand conversations, means that he finds this stressful. A personal assistant would be really helpful with these situations.
