We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Physiotherapy Clinical Support Worker within the Physiotherapy Outpatient Department at Amersham Hospital. The role will be primarily supporting the Hydrotherapy Pool Service, within our newly upgraded Hydrotherapy Facilities.
This role will suit someone who is motivated, flexible and hard-working, and keen to support patients to achieve their potential in rehabilitation. This role is part of a well-established and supportive therapy team.
Experience of working in healthcare is desirable. Having good communication and team-working skills is essential. The post involves weekend working as part of the therapy weekend service.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Outpatient Physiotherapy Team based in Amersham Hospital, primarily supporting the Hydrotherapy Service. To work with patients individually and alongside qualified staff, supporting patients with their rehabilitation within the Hydrotherapy Pool and Outpatient Physiotherapy Department. This may involve a range of activities, for example, booking appointments, use of electronic booking system, assisting patients in/out of the Hydrotherapy Pool (including use of the ceiling track hoist), carrying out exercise programs, carrying out pool checks, assisting within classes etc.
To record accurate notes and statistics, and to complete admin tasks as required by the team, for example, ordering equipment and collating statistics for audit.

Person specification
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
10. Good level of education to GCSE standard. (at least 3 subjects)
11. Level 3 GCSE or equivalent in English
Desirable criteria
12. NVQ level I, II or III in Health Care
13. Manual Handling, Life Saving or First Aid qualification
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
14. Able to accept and undertake responsibility for designated tasks
15. 6 months experience within a customer care (face to face) environment.
Desirable criteria
16. Previous work as a Therapy Assistant
17. Previous work in health care environment
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
18. Clear, concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multi disciplinary team, patients and carers to ensure records and reports are accurate, legal and in legible manner (in English)
19. Demonstrate good organisational skills.
20. Demonstrate insight into the importance of maintaining a safe working environment
21. Ability to learn / ability to self initiate learning (evidence within the last 2 years)
22. Able to work within a team setting
23. Able to undertake manual handling tasks
24. Physical ability and endurance to work in the physical environment of the clinical area required by this post
