Overview
Nova Education Trust is seeking a Trust Safeguarding Lead to join our central team. In this senior specialist role, you will be a key champion for our culture of vigilance, ensuring that our family of schools maintains the highest standards of protection and ambition for every child.
Responsibilities
* Act as the Trust’s primary expert advisor, offering guidance to Headteachers and DSLs on complex cases and national developments.
* Lead and deliver a robust safeguarding audit framework and quality assurance activities to support academies in developing effective action plans.
* Provide assurance to Trust leadership on the effectiveness of safeguarding systems, including Single Central Records (SCRs) and statutory policy requirements.
* Lead safeguarding networks and forums, fostering collaboration and strengthening practice across the Trust.
* Identify trends and risks through regular reporting to the Executive Team and Trust Board to drive continuous improvement.
* Support the Trust in ensuring all staff and volunteers undergo enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks in line with DfE requirements.
Qualifications
* Strong background in safeguarding within education or children’s services.
* Direct experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and working across multi-site organisations.
* Deep understanding of statutory guidance (including KCSIE), SCR requirements, and multi‑agency safeguarding processes.
* Integrity and confidence to influence and provide healthy challenge to senior leaders.
* A commitment to working collectively to ensure pupils feel safe, respected, and valued.
