This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping the educational journey of our youngest pupils within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment. As an Early Years Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting the development and progress of children in our Early Years setting. Your role is vital in ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a stimulating environment for all pupils. Key Responsibilities: Take responsibility for whole class cover in Early Years, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning continues seamlessly in the absence of the class teacher. Provide emergency cover at short notice, adapting quickly to support children and maintain a positive learning atmosphere. Lead daily phonic and maths groups, helping children build strong foundations in early reading and numeracy. Develop and enhance designated areas of learning within the Early Years environment, contributing to a rich and engaging curriculum. Experience in leading whole class activities, ideally within nursery or Reception settings. Experience supporting children with additional needs, demonstrating empathy and adaptability. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly to changing situations. Sound knowledge of early reading, phonics, and maths, enabling you to deliver targeted group sessions. Confidence in following teachers planning and providing emergency cover at short notice. Outstanding interpersonal skills, allowing you to communicate effectively with both children and adults.
