Are you a highly skilled Stress Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical analysis, simulation, and problem-solving?
We’re supporting a major engineering project in the Aerospace & Defence sector, based in Huddersfield, and looking for a Stress Engineer to join the team on a permanent or contract basis. The role involves working with high-integrity mechanical systems such as gearboxes, power transmission components, and structural subassemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed stress and structural analysis using FEA tools (ideally ANSYS)
* Support design teams with hand calculations and static load analysis
* Investigate structural failures and conduct root cause analysis
* Attend design reviews and present technical documentation
* Work collaboratively across the product lifecycle – design, development, and customer support
* Ensure compliance with quality standards and technical specifications
What You’ll Need:
* Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, HyperMesh)
* Ability to perform hand calculations for stress and structural integrity
* Experience with mechanical systems (ideally gears/gearboxes)
* A degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering
* Background in Aerospace, Defence, or Heavy Engineering
* UK Citizenship (due to project security clearance requirements)
This is an exciting opportunity for a Stress Engineer to work on cutting-edge systems in a technically challenging and rewarding environment.
