Job Description
The JD Group is recruiting for a Merchandise Assistant to join our Bury Head Office, within the JD Sports Fashion fascia. The Merchandise Assistant reports to the Merchandiser and supports the merchandising team with day-to-day tasks such as updating supplier order books, managing problem orders, and stock movements. This role offers an opportunity to develop a career in merchandising within a dedicated team.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
Order (20%)
* Update supplier order books and ETA reports.
* Reconcile supplier order books and communicate anomalies.
* Support with raising brand purchase orders as required.
Stock (40%)
* Book in new products as directed by the Merchandiser.
* Coordinate with the warehouse regarding delivery issues and problem orders.
* Conduct cost and retail checks on orders in conjunction with the Assistant Merchandiser.
* Pre-allocate new products up to 6 months in advance using the scheduling system.
Trade (40%)
* Produce reports for Monday trade meetings.
* Analyze reports and conduct store visits to develop product awareness.
* Maximize sales of best sellers by reviewing stock levels.
* Manage stock movements, including IBTs, with the Assistant Merchandiser.
* Check weekly price amendments.
* Follow up on feedback from Retail and Store Merchandising to support stores.
* Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed.
* Build collaborative relationships across teams.
