Service Supervisor | Field-based – Birmingham / Midlands | 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday | £38,000 basic plus door-to-door travel, call-out payments, and supervisor incentive scheme | OTE: £40,000 – £55,000
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for an experienced Service Supervisor to join their field-based engineering team, covering Birmingham and the wider Midlands region.

The Role
Reporting to the Field Line Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and leading a team of engineers, ensuring engineering services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with company KPIs and customer expectations.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with effective leadership skills, helping to drive service excellence and continuous improvement across the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and motivate a team of field engineers, promoting high standards and leading by example
* Work closely with the Field Line Manager to improve operational performance and team efficiency
* Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical training to engineers
* Assist with onboarding and induction of new team members
* Carry out hands‑on engineering work and support engineers with complex technical issues in the field
* Provide remote technical assistance and troubleshooting support when requiredConduct regular health and safety audits and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
* Implement corrective actions and maintain a strong safety culture across the team
* Monitor engineering performance to ensure work is completed to a high standard and within agreed KPIs
* Act as a key communication link between field engineers and office-based teams
* Support planning and scheduling of workloads, labour, and materials to meet operational requirements
Candidate Requirements
Our client is looking for a candidate with a strong background in the fire and security industry and proven supervisory experience.
Essential Experience And Qualifications Include
* Strong working knowledge of Gent and Notifier systems
* Proven field engineering and supervisory/management experience
* Significant experience within the fire systems industry
* Industry qualifications such as FIA or equivalent
* IOSH or SSSTS Health & Safety certification
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
* Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills
* Good understanding of contract terms and pricing structures
* Strong people management and relationship‑building abilities
* Full UK driving licence
