Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Bakery section, where you'll become a champion of our delicious baked goods. We're seeking passionate individuals with a love for baking and a deep understanding of bakery products to deliver fresh perspectives every day. You'll be a brand ambassador who's ready to recommend our delicious bakery products. Through remarkable service you'll make sure our customers feel truly valued every time they shop with us.
Responsibilities
* Be ready to roll up your sleeves, work hard and go above and beyond every day to serve customers.
* Be digitally confident; utilise our digital tools, such as the Sparks App, to enhance the customer experience and ensure they get the products they want when they need them.
* Maintain high standards in food safety and hygiene while delivering efficient service.
* Be a team player; create a great inclusive store environment, supporting and respecting your colleagues and our customers.
* Be flexible to work across various areas of the store, adapting to changing demands of the retail environment; deliver a great shopping experience by putting customers before tasks and championing our products.
* Serve customers efficiently on the shop floor and at service points.
* Keep the store clean and tidy, ensuring shelves are stocked with product.
* Monitor and deliver on daily sales targets, priorities, promotions and selling opportunities.
* Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, make recommendations and deliver remarkable service throughout their visit to the store.
* Build expert product knowledge to sell and recommend our products and services.
* We’ll provide training to utilise all digital tools and communication channels to deliver for the customer every time.
* Maintain high levels of customer service and a strong attention to detail.
* Open to and act upon feedback, asking for it regularly.
* Takes accountability for planning and managing own workload efficiently.
* Strong communication skills.
* Adaptable to changing situations.
