Actual Annual Salary £4,002.00 (7.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per annum)
We are looking for a midday supervisor to join our busy and friendly lunchtime team working from 11:30am to 1.00pm each day.
The Role: This role will work under the direct instruction of Senior Midday Supervisor and school leadership team, to supervise and assist children inside the school, in play areas and in the dining hall to ensure a positive and happy time for the pupils and ensure that all pupils behave in an appropriate manner.
Responsibilities:
* Provide a safe environment for children and take responsibility for supervising and assisting children over the lunchtime period.
* To assist in setting up and clearing away/ cleaning tables as necessary within the timescales
* To ensure that pupils form quiet, orderly queues, and to- monitor children in the dining room in order to encourage children to eat healthy, balanced lunches.
* To promote good table manners and use of cutlery.
* Make decisions to resolve problems and issues that may arise during the lunchtime period
* Address any behaviour by children and control children to ensure their safety and wellbeing and to manage behaviour using approved sanctions outlined by the school.
* To give comfort and support to children who are distressed
* Appropriate use of resources, including play equipment and organised games, to keep children occupied during the lunchtime period and to liaise with lead staff to organise the lunchtime period and coordinate duties with colleagues to ensure an appropriate balance of dining and recreation time for children
* Liaise with teaching and lead staff to share information, concerns and issues regarding children to ensure that there is continuity in helping to solve any issues or problems throughout the school.
* Understands and applies school policies and comply with policies and procedures relating to racial incidents, bullying, child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
* Follow school policies and procedures to deal with, record and make appropriate decisions to ensure maximum safety for the children during lunchtime. Check, monitor and resolve health and welfare issues, and where necessary refer these to appropriate senior members of staff
Other Information
* The Lunchtime Supervisor will undertake basic first aid training and they may be required to learn certain procedures e.g. how to use an Epipen. They will also learn which children have medical needs and food allergies.
* Playground duty is carried out at all times of the year including during cold and windy conditions, staying indoors during wet weather conditions.
* Maintain confidentiality inside and outside the workplace
* Support the Catholic ethos of the school
