A new opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified, Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered, Specialist Biomedical Scientist with experience working in a Clinical Chemistry laboratory to join the Clinical Chemistry department based in Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.

It is advantageous if the candidate has completed the IBMS Specialist portfolio in Chemistry. If a candidate is HCPC registered but does not have a portfolio they would be required to do so in addition to the schedule of in house training provided. This would need completed within the agreed time scale, prior to progression to Band 6 and the salary will be paid at Annex 21 of a band 6 in line with the A4C Terms and Conditions.

Active participation in CPD and opportunities for further study are supported and encouraged. You will be employed to work shifts over 7 days which include public holidays, evening, weekend and overnight shifts as required by the needs of the service.

This is a busy, well equipped department providing Clinical Chemistry support to the Acute Hospital, Community Hospitals and General Practice in Forth Valley. The department is working towards UKAS Accreditation using the ISO15189:2022 standards.

Agenda for Change

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
