We are seeking a forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician, whether you are a soon-to-qualify Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician or currently undertaking a process to re-register as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC. You will work within the Pharmacy Department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, as part of the pharmacy technical team. Your key responsibilities will include supervising and training staff, prioritising and coordinating daily workloads, managing pharmacy stocks, and ensuring the continuous availability of medicines for NHS Tayside patients. Your duties will encompass Pharmacy Technician responsibilities and rotations within the Pharmacy Distribution and Dispensing Centre (PDDC), Aseptic Dispensing Unit (ADU), Homecare, and clinical areas providing medicines management services.
You will support the pharmacy team in delivering effective services aligned with key performance indicators.
To be considered for this role, you must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), be a Pre-registration trainee due to qualify and register with GPhC in 2025, or be undertaking a re-registration process. Applicants should be willing to train for the final accuracy check of dispensed medicines or already possess a recognised accuracy checking qualification.
There will be opportunities for support to complete the post-registration Vocational Framework for Pharmacy Technicians for personal and professional development.
Hours of work are up to 37 hours per week over a 7-day schedule. Applications from those wishing to work part-time will be considered.
