Core responsibilities
* Patient communication:Serve as the primary point of contact for patients via phone, email, or in-person, managing inquiries and directing them appropriately.
* Appointment management:Book appointments for patients and manage schedules to optimise the patient journey.
* Administrative support:Handle tasks such as data entry, filing, and assisting with the long-term conditions recall and DNA management.
* Service coordination:Signpost patients and their families to other services, including statutory, voluntary, and community support networks, to help manage their needs and improve their quality of life.
* Liaison:Act as a communication hub between patients, doctors, and other medical staff.
Required skills and qualifications
* Communication:Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills are essential, including a polite and clear telephone manner.
* Technical proficiency:Ability to use IT systems for administrative and data entry purposes.
* Problem-solving:Ability to work under pressure and find the best solutions for patients' needs.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSEs in English and Maths at a certain grade (e.g., 4/C) or equivalent experience.
* Experience working in a healthcare setting
