Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Investment Banking business.
Our EMEA Energy, Power, Renewables & Mining (EPRM) team is responsible for the origination and execution of public/private M&A and capital markets transactions involving corporate clients and financial sponsors in the broader sector. The team maintains a large network of relationships with prominent companies across the EMEA region and subsectors.
As an Associate in the EMEA EPRM Investment Banking coverage team, you will play a vital role in maintaining strategic dialogues with key clients and executing M&A and capital markets transactions. You will support the execution functions, collaborate with junior and senior bankers, and partner with colleagues from other countries and product teams such as M&A, ECM, and DCM.
Job Responsibilities
* Interact with senior deal team members and client management teams daily to execute transactions.
* Support origination efforts and client engagement initiatives by preparing marketing pitches, presentations, and analyses to secure mandates.
* Define, guide, and review detailed valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and LBO analyses, among others.
* Coordinate with teams such as leveraged finance, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, ratings, and credit.
* Stay informed on key market developments and enhance knowledge of the client base and market dynamics.
* Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to analysts.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* 3-5 years of relevant investment banking experience.
* Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, energetic, and decisive with high integrity.
* Strong technology skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
* Motivated, adaptable, capable of multitasking, and managing projects independently.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts clearly and defend ideas.
* Professional and mature interaction with clients and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Experience in the broader Energy, Power, Renewables, and Mining sectors.
* Additional European language skills.
This role involves regulated activities and the candidate must meet regulatory requirements, including assessments of fitness, propriety, knowledge, and competence, and obtain necessary approvals.
