Introduction to Playwriting with Somebody Jones: Theatre503 Writers’ Programme
A playwriting course for newcomers. Led by Somebody Jones who will take 5 sessions to get you to a point where you are ready to write.
Dates/Times: Tuesdays, 7pm – 9:30pm. 11th February, 18th February, 25th February, 4th March and 11th March.
Running time of each workshop: 2.5 hours – delivered online via Zoom. Maximum class sizes are 16. A portion of spaces have been reserved for Share the Drama places.
1. Tuesday 11th February 2025– Beginnings — inciting incident & stakes
2. Tuesday 18th February 2025– Beginnings part 2 — exposition
3. Tuesday 25th February 2025– Middles — characters, their stakes & obstacles
4. Tuesday 4th March 2025– Middles part 2 — tackling writer’s block
5. Tuesday 11th March 2025– Endings — how is this world and the characters forever changed?

Somebody Jones is a Los Angeles native playwright/dramaturg, currently living, working, and dreaming in London. Jones’s work celebrates and champions Black culture in all of its charms and complexities.
