About the Team
Join our Clinical Negligence team as a Grade C solicitor (or equivalent). You will support lawyers and senior lawyers in managing a diverse caseload of clinical negligence cases from inception through trial. You will also mentor junior team members, and contribute to the team’s overall success.

Accountable For
* Running an individual caseload
* Providing support, guidance, and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
* Contributing to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
* Supporting the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
* Effective and thorough time recording
Responsible For
* Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
* Identifying and driving cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
* Working with the team to ensure relevant information is collected and collated to enable case progression
* Managing a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
* Coordinating progression of cases with all internal and external parties
* Drafting legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
* Negotiating settlement and issuing and serving proceedings if required
* Litigating claims as required
* Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced by the team
* Advising the team on technical issues with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Recent experience of handling a case load
* 5 years PQE or equivalent experience working in clinical negligence (NQ)
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
* Excellent communication and drafting skills
* Advanced IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office, Proclaim, and Excel
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
* Ability to work with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
* Flexible and willing to meet deadlines and achieve results
* Excellent client care skills
