Millfield is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Development Assistant to join our Development Office on a temporary basis.
Supporting a wide range of activities including communications, events and administration, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, collaborative environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Development team.
You will help to maintain strong relationships with alumni, parents and supporters, while ensuring the smooth delivery of communications, events and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing enquiries via the Development Office inbox and phone line
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of alumni (OM Society) events
- Providing administrative support, including meeting scheduling and coordinating donor visits
- Maintaining and updating database records, ensuring accuracy of donor information
- Supporting gift processing, including acknowledgements and thank-you correspondence
- Assisting with purchase order administration
- Creating and publishing content for social media and webpages
- Supporting prospect research and identifying potential fundraising opportunities
Qualifications and Skills

- You will be an organized and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- You will be confident communicating with a range of stakeholders and comfortable handling confidential information appropriately.
- Strong IT skills and confidence using databases and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of discretion and professionalism
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Working Hours and Salary
- Ideally 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, although some flexibility can be offered on working hours
- Temporary contract until the end of September – £13 per hour
