Overview

Role Overview: Our Retail Sales Advisors are at the heart of our business acting as our biggest brand ambassadors. They are often the first point of contact for customers visiting our showrooms and are empowered to support customers in growing their homes by helping them choose furniture and accessories from our broad range of products. They deliver an exceptional experience by using a consultative sales approach and expert knowledge of our product range.


Role

Retail Sales Advisor: Our Retail Sales Advisors are at the heart of our business acting as our biggest brand ambassadors. They are the first point of contact for customers visiting our showrooms and help customers select pieces of furniture and accessories. They achieve this with a commercially minded, consultative sales approach using their knowledge of Oak Furnitureland’s product range to deliver an exceptional experience.

This role includes a commitment to high performance, recognised through our uncapped commission scheme, which rewards dedication and hard work.


Responsibilities

* Provide an exceptional customer experience by sharing expert knowledge of Oak Furnitureland's product ranges and services.
* Follow the Retail Sales Model to make recommendations based on customer needs and support informed purchasing decisions.
* Contribute to customer satisfaction scores (e.g., Net Promoter Score, Trust Pilot), increase customer loyalty, and influence repeat business and new sales opportunities.
* Consistently achieve personal sales and performance KPIs and targets to support the showroom team’s overall performance.
* Work with the Store Manager and Assistant Manager to create an inclusive team culture that reflects company values and expected behaviours.
* Collaborate with Visual Merchandising and Facilities & Maintenance to maintain a compliant, up-to-date retail environment and a safe, inviting showroom.
* Engage with Partnering 4 Performance to shape personal objectives and development plans that support individual and business growth.
* Deliver business, divisional, and showroom ways of working in line with Oak Furnitureland processes and procedures.
* Stay up-to-date and commercially aware of internal and external factors affecting business trade and customer experience.
* Utilise training materials and communications to keep knowledge of products and services current, enhancing personal and business sales performance.
* Use Oak Furnitureland systems to process customer information compliantly and efficiently according to procedures and policies.
* Encourage and enable a seamless omnichannel customer journey by using digital resources and marketing tools to aid purchase decisions.


Skills and Experience

* Extensive experience in customer-facing environments with deep knowledge of retail sales and delivering an exceptional customer journey, preferably in furniture or consultative sales.
* Knowledge of sales models and processes that enable personal targets to be achieved.
* Strong questioning and listening skills with persuasive communication to influence, build relationships, and drive sales.
* Experience working in high-performing teams and achieving stretch goals and KPIs.
* Understanding of how customer experience relates to metrics such as NPS, Trust Pilot, repeat business, and new opportunities.
* Up-to-date knowledge of the furniture industry and Oak Furnitureland’s USPs and competitors.
* Awareness of regulatory frameworks relevant to the sector and role with experience delivering compliant policies and procedures.
* Understanding of purchasing motivations and external/internal factors influencing decisions.

Our Retail Sales Advisors work towards a store target with uncapped commission rates of up to 4% on all sales.


Working Hours

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days, with one weekend off every six.

This position may suit individuals with prior experience in roles such as: Sales Associate, Sales Consultant, Retail Associate, Sales Professional, Sales Consultant, or Sales Executive.
