We are seeking an Apprentice/Trainee People Manager for our Public Sector North team. The role supports Associates across Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh, with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office and travel between locations.

Role Overview
The Apprentice/Trainee People Manager plays a critical role in shaping the experience of Associates within the Public Sector Audit business. You will inspire, support and challenge Associates to reach their potential, and help create an inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
* Conduct regular conversations with Associates to understand workload, wellbeing and performance.
* Proactively manage issues including exam failures, under‑performance, absences, and wellbeing concerns, escalating where appropriate.
* Handle administrative tasks related to associates’ engagement.
* Lead the local orientation programme for newly‑joined Associates.
* Collaborate closely with Associate Career Coaches, Apprentice/Trainee People Managers and other internal stakeholders.
* Promote diversity and inclusion through everyday actions.
Qualifications
* Experience in mentoring and coaching others.
* Experience in direct line or people management.
* Ability to support and challenge others to help them reach their full potential.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Passion for creating a positive experience for Associates, Apprentices and Trainees.
* Additional preferred experience: project or initiative support, wellbeing and support, knowledge of accountancy training pathways, stakeholder management, project management, cross‑team collaboration.
