A market-leading global logistics organisation is seeking a Junior Simulation Specialist to support airport capacity planning within a complex, high-volume operational environment.
This role sits at the intersection of simulation and operational modelling, offering the opportunity to work on real-world capacity challenges using Discrete Event Simulation (DES).
If you have a strong foundation in simulation, operations, or modelling, and are looking to grow your career in a highly impactful setting, this is a fantastic opportunity.
What you’ll be doing:
* Support the development and calibration of Discrete Event Simulation (DES) models
* Assist with what-if analysis, scenario planning, and peak flow modelling
* Translate model outputs into clear insights for operational stakeholders
* Work closely with operational teams to ensure models reflect real-world processes and constraints
* Analyse operational data to support model validation and improvement
* Contribute to the development of tools and dashboards for decision support
What we’re looking for:
* Exposure to Discrete Event Simulation, simulation modelling, or operational research
* Familiarity with DES tools such as Simul8, AnyLogic, Arena, Witness, or similar
* Background or interest in aviation, transport, logistics, manufacturing, or complex operations
* Strong analytical mindset with an interest in capacity planning and system performance
* Ability to communicate ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
