Job Title: Target Operating Model Specialist Location: Remote, UK Employment Type: 3 months contract Overview: We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented TOM (Target Operating Model) Specialist to join a leading client in the construction industry. This role focuses on capturing and documenting the "As-Is" state of our business operations, providing key insights into existing processes, systems, roles, and organisational structures. You will play a critical role in supporting transformation initiatives and shaping the future of our business operations. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of current business operations, processes, and capabilities across multiple departments. Document the 'As-Is' state, including process flows, organisational charts, data flows, systems, and governance models. Facilitate workshops and interviews with key stakeholders to gather insights on operational practices. Analyse pain points, inefficiencies, and gaps to lay the foundation for TOM design and transformation. Collaborate with business analysts, process owners, and transformation teams to validate and refine findings. Deliver high-quality outputs such as process maps (e.g., BPMN), capability assessments, and SWOT analyses. Ensure alignment of documentation with the organization's strategic objectives and enterprise architecture. Maintain version control and ensure traceability of 'As-Is' assets throughout the transformation lifecycle. Required Experience: 4-7 years of experience in consulting, particularly in TOM design, operating model transformation, or enterprise architecture. Expertise in various components of TOM, including organizational design, governance, process optimization, and enabling technologies. Proven experience in 'As-Is' analysis and business process documentation. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and C-suite executives. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. Proficiency with tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and diagramming platforms like Visio or Lucidchart. In-depth understanding of strategic frameworks, value chains, and business capability modeling. Experience in managing large-scale transformation projects across various business functions. Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to align operational processes with broader business strategy and goals. A proactive, curious, and detail-driven approach to problem-solving. Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
