Job Summary

As a Solution and Technical Architect at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust you will be instrumental in defining, documenting and planning transformational change across clinical, operational and corporate domains within our Trust. These activities in turn will support the Trust in its wider strategic objectives.

In this role you will work with clinical and operational senior leaders alongside domain and technical experts to design, optimise, transform and consolidate solutions, integrations, technical architectures and clinical systems. These activities will manifest in your expert design advice in the form of technical and solution designs, and plans within the overall Informatics portfolio of change.


Main Duties

Your duties will also include establishing robust architectural governance frameworks, which includes the establishment and production of architectural reference models, catalogues and diagrams - all achieved in conjunction with other technical experts.

Requirements


Experience

* Significant relevant experience within a Digital environment (as a solution and/or technical/integration architect) with a high degree of complexity acquired through training and experience over an extended period with exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms and environments.
* Experience of motivating and inspiring staff managed directly and indirectly to work together to achieve a common objective.
* Experience of managing a variety of senior stakeholders with conflicting agendas.
* Experience of conducting negotiations relating to highly complex matters both internal and external to the organisation.
* An understanding and knowledge of the workings of the NHS, the challenges it faces and of the reform agenda.
* Experience of managing resources and budgets.
* Experience of preparing and presenting reports of complex, sensitive or contentious information at senior forums.
* Proven track record of leadership.
* Evidence of developing teams/others.
* Demonstrable track record in delivering complex targets and objectives to tight deadlines.


Desirable Experience

* Good understanding of the NHS and involvement in the production of local (organisation) or sector‑wide strategies.
* Knowledge and awareness of clinical and healthcare system protocols and standards such as HL‑7, CDA, FHIR, SNOMED, OpenEHR, DICOM, UTL, ICD, IHE, CCR/CCD, CTV3 and ISO/TC215.


Skills

* Demonstrable senior level communication skills.
* Ability to work to agreed goals, in a self‑directed and professional manner.
* Organisation and time management skills to manage and deliver a range of multiple complex tasks and projects to tight deadlines.
* Ability to engage, influence and persuade a broad range of individuals and professional groups at all levels of seniority.

Knowledge

* Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality.
* Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff.
* Understanding of what the NHS Constitution means to you, and your responsibilities to the public, patients and colleagues.
* An understanding and knowledge of the workings of the NHS or healthcare environment.
* Significant knowledge and experience of applying budgeting, benefits tracking and demand management principles to both capital and revenue allocations.
* Knowledge and understanding of the NHS, including the political, strategic and operational environment in which it operates.
* Knowledge and experience of risk management.
* Knowledge and experience of capital planning.


Desirable Knowledge

* Highly developed specialist knowledge and experience of managing a range of complex activities in a healthcare setting.


Qualifications

* Educated to a minimum of Master’s degree level, or equivalent post‑graduate qualification or equivalent level of experience within a senior Digital role.
* Degree level or equivalent qualification specifically in discipline(s) related to role.Evidence of management development through Continuous Professional Development and/or formal management course.Highly developed specialist knowledge, acquired through a combination of in‑depth experience and post‑graduate/post‑registration study obtained through a master’s degree, equivalent experience or significant formal training or research.TOGAF Certification.


Desirable Qualifications
