Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, we’re looking to speak with experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers ready to make a real impact.
💧 Location: Manchester (Hybrid working available)
💧 Type: Contract (Outside IR35)
💧 Sector: Water & Utilities Infrastructure
💧 Start Date: ASAP
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead the delivery of mechanical design packages, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance
* Produce detailed design calculations and technical drawings for water and wastewater projects
* Manage and support junior engineers and CAD technicians
* Oversee and coordinate with subcontract M&E design teams
* Engage with equipment suppliers, contractors, and project stakeholders
* Conduct site investigations and prepare technical reports and specifications
* Support project meetings and design presentations
* Provide accurate estimates for design hours and project scope
What We’re Looking For:
* Extensive mechanical design experience within the water sector (clean and/or wastewater)
* Strong hydraulic design knowledge
* Understanding of electrical/control systems and construction methods
* Degree or HND in mechanical engineering or related field
* Proficiency in industry-standard software and drawing practices
* Chartered or working towards chartered status (desirable)
