The Adult Community Mental Health Hub serves a diverse and vibrant population with secondary mental health needs and severe mental health conditions. The Hub consists of medical staff, nurses, peer support workers, employment specialists, and psychology/psychotherapy staff. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop and co-facilitate groups as part of the psychosocial Hub offer.
We are located in Uxbridge, a 10-minute walk from the Town Centre. The nearest underground station is Uxbridge Underground (Piccadilly and Metropolitan Lines) or West Drayton Train Station. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in community mental health. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with an option to work up to two days a week remotely.
Responsibilities:
1. Work as an OT in the Adult Community Mental Health Hub, providing a high-quality service to service users.
2. Provide OT assessments and interventions for service users under the care of the team, both in healthcare environments and people's homes.
3. Conduct functional and home assessments for prescribing adapted equipment, making recommendations, and addressing accommodation needs.
4. Deliver evidence-based group interventions.
5. Manage a caseload and act as an allocated Named Worker autonomously.
6. Work within the multidisciplinary team to support the overall functioning of the team.
Successful applicants may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust, we strongly encourage and support vaccination, as it remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, colleagues, and patients in healthcare settings.
About us
The team provides a friendly welcome and a comprehensive induction, including shadowing opportunities and visits to services. We have invested fully in our Band 5 development through robust supervision, a preceptorship programme, and internal training. Success in preceptorship may lead to further training to become an educator for OT students. Many of our Band 5s choose to stay with us in senior posts.
