Job overview

We are seeking a initiative-taking and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team within the Crossley Unit at Redcar Primary Care Hospital.

The Crossley Unit is a outpatient unit that provides a range of urology services including outpatient clinics, investigations and day case procedures and treatments.

Specialist training courses are available in order to improve staff awareness and knowledge in the specialist area.

Main duties of the job

Our patients are central to everything we do; our nurses provide high standards of care with commitment, compassion and competence.

The post holder will be involved in the planning and implementing of outpatient care for patients alongside a team of medical staff, specialist nurses and healthcare assistants.

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria

1. A team player able to work well with others & demonstrates commitment to team objectives.
2. Effective communication skills, both written & verbal.
3. Ability to work within the boundaries of the NMC Code of Professional conduct
4. Commitment to the needs of the service including a flexible and adaptable approach in the work environment/work practices
5. Ability to use initiative to make a decision within sphere of work and/or knowledge recognising where assistance is required
6. Commitment to adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures and to contribute to an implement policy in own area and propose changes

Experience

7. Experience working within an acute or Community setting
8. Experience of Multi-disciplinary working
9. Commitment to evidence based practice

Qualifications

10. Current NMC Registration
11. Degree or Diploma in Nursing
