We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Graduate Software Engineer to join our engineering team on an initial 12-month fixed-term graduate scheme with the aim of retaining them after this period. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone at the start of their software engineering career who is keen to develop practical engineering skills while contributing to real product development, issue resolution, and technical improvement initiatives.
Working closely with senior engineers, you will support software development activities across analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, and release support. The role is designed to help balance engineering workload while bringing in fresh perspectives, particularly around AI, cybersecurity, automation, and modern software practices.
This position is ideal for a graduate who is curious, collaborative, security-conscious, and eager to learn in a hands‑on technical environment.
We are ideally looking for a start date of August or September 2026.

Essential Skills and Experience
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, AI, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
* Foundational knowledge of software development principles and programming concepts.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders.
* A willingness to learn, seek feedback, and apply guidance from senior team members.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
* Exposure to AI tools, machine learning concepts, or automation frameworks.
* Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, secure coding, vulnerability management, or data privacy.
* Experience using version control tools such as Git.
* Familiarity with software testing, debugging, or issue‑tracking tools.
* Understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile working, or DevOps practices.
* Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, databases, or hardware/software integration would be beneficial.
As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will:
* Support routine software development tasks, including analysis, design, coding, documentation, testing, and debugging.
* Work under the guidance of senior engineers to deliver assigned development tasks in line with agreed standards and timelines.
* Assist with diagnosing, investigating, and resolving customer or product issues.
* Contribute to software and hardware product releases, updates, and maintenance activities.
* Support product evolution through accurate documentation, change management, and technical knowledge sharing.
* Learn and apply core software engineering principles, coding standards, quality processes, and secure development practices.
* Help maintain technical and design knowledge across the team and contribute to peer learning where appropriate.
* Uphold high standards of quality, security, privacy, and reliability in all engineering activities.
* Participate in process, tooling, and workflow improvements, with a particular focus on opportunities involving AI-enabled tools, automation, and cybersecurity best practice.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements, communicate progress, and support continuous improvement.
