The key responsibilities and duties of the Lead Engineer include, but are not limited to:
1. Act as the primary technical contact for a specific product line, supporting customer development, cost analysis, and specification validation.
2. Oversee standards, conduct trend analysis, and coordinate responses to technical queries or changes.
3. Lead technical projects from concept to completion, including planning, risk management, scheduling, and cross-site collaboration.
4. Share best practices, transfer knowledge, and maintain expertise across legacy, current, and future landing gear types.
5. Create and track project plans, ensuring milestones are met and stakeholders are engaged.
6. Escalate time or resource issues to Engineering Management as needed.
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
7. Degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent aviation experience.
8. Project management skills essential; LEAN or formal PM qualifications desirable.
9. Experience leading technical projects in aviation, ideally MRO and landing gear.
10. Knowledge of aircraft data systems (AMM/IPC/CMM), MRP/SERP (e.g., SAP/AMOS), and airworthiness regulations (21J/21G/145).
11. Strong communication and customer engagement skills.
12. Right to work in the UK; hybrid working with potential travel.
