Main Duties
To plan and carry out research, using appropriate methodology and techniques. This may include, where appropriate to the discipline:
8. Pursue personal research including developing research ideas and winning support, including financial support
9. Plan, publish and/or execute high quality research
10. Project manage research activities, and/or supervise other research staff
11. Present high quality findings in publications and conference proceedings
12. Develop novel methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research being pursued
13. Supervise and examine PhD students, both within and out with the University
14. Provide expert advice to colleagues and students within discipline
15. Contribute to the administration/management of research across the Department/School
16. Develop and make substantial contributions to knowledge transfer, enterprise, business engagement, and public engagement activities of manifest benefit to the College and the University
17. Contribute to some administrative activities within the University, typically relating to research
18. Apply knowledge in a way that develops new intellectual understanding*

Person Specification
20. Normally, a higher degree relevant to the research area (normally PhD or near to completion) or equivalent qualifications
21. Extensive research experience and scholarship within the area of eating behaviour
22. Experience and achievement reflected in a growing reputation
23. Extensive experience and demonstrated success in planning, undertaking and project managing research to deliver high quality results
24. Extensive experience of applying and/or developing and devising successful models, techniques and methods
25. Extensive experience and achievement in knowledge transfer, enterprise and similar activity
26. Experience of championing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in own work area
27. Ability to monitor and evaluate the extent to which equality and diversity legislation, policies, procedures are applied
28. Ability to identify issues with the potential to impact on protected groups and take appropriate action
